چکیده

Studies were carried out in National Active Germplasm Site (NAGS) at ICAR-NRC on Litchi, Muzaffarpur, Bihar, India during 2018 and 2019 to find the association between different characters magnitude of with yield (kg plant-1) nine clones litchi (Litchi chinensis Sonn.). Result revealed that genotypic coefficient higher than their corresponding phenotypic ones implying an inherent relationship among them. The differences variation (PCV GCV) found narrow for all traits indicate least influence environment traits. Heritability was more 80% parameters studied except seed weight (34.90%) TSS (73.20%). Correlation analysis quantifies only degree two non-significant correlation value cannot be taken imply absence functional variables but path reveals this by breaking total into components direct indirect effects. number leaflet, leaf length, width, rachis petiole length panicle, fruit weight, pulp TSS, sugar exhibited positive correlation. Among character studied, (1.646), (0.975), panicle (0.900), (0.639), per (0.601), (0.465) (0.370) recorded maximum effect towards both level. This study could form a selection criterion improvement litchi.

Identifying Litchi (Litchi chinensis Sonn.) Cultivars and Their Genetic Relationships Using Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) Markers

Litchi is an important fruit tree in tropical and subtropical areas of the world. However, there is widespread confusion regarding litchi cultivar nomenclature and detailed information of genetic relationships among litchi germplasm is unclear. In the present study, the potential of single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) for the identification of 96 representative litchi accessions and their gene...

Growth Regulators for Yield and Quality Enhancement in Litchi (Litchi chinensis L) - A Review

The existing gaps in yield potential, production of poor quality, un-attractive fruits and negligible export potential of quality litchi fruit are the main concerns. These need to be combated in modern day fruit production to meet the ever increasing demand to nourish the growing population and increasing the economic returns. Plant growth hormones play important role in the integrated developm...

Changes in phenolic compounds in Litchi (Litchi chinensis Sonn.) fruit during postharvest storage

Litchi (Litchi chinensis Sonn. cv. Huaizhi) fruit were stored at ambient temperature (20–25°C) for up to 7 days and at 4°C for up to 35 days for separation, purification and identification of individual phenolic compounds and investigation of their changes during postharvest storage. Results indicate that flavan-3-ol monomers and dimers were major phenolic compounds representing about 87.0% of ...

Water deficits at anthesis reduce CO(2) assimilation and yield of lychee (Litchi chinensis Sonn.) trees.

Ten-year-old 'Tai So' lychee (Litchi chinensis Sonn.) trees growing on a sandy loam soil in subtropical South Africa (latitude 25 degrees S) were watered weekly (well-watered treatment) or droughted from late July until January (drought treatment). After 16 weeks, at which time the trees obtained most of their water from below 150 cm, average soil water content at 0 to 150 cm depth was 14.5 +/-...

Transcriptional changes in litchi (Litchi chinensis Sonn.) inflorescences treated with uniconazole

In Arabidopsis, treating shoots with uniconazole can result in enhanced primary root elongation and bolting delay. Uniconazole spraying has become an important cultivation technique in controlling the flowering and improving the fruit-setting of litchi. However, the mechanism by which uniconazole regulates the complicated developmental processes in litchi remains unclear. This study aimed to de...
